Although what was simplistically said by former CJ Tun Abd Hamid Mohamad about the possible merger of the Common Law and syariah could have been just an obiter dictum (mere comments) had it been uttered in the course of a court proceeding, the outburst by MCA Legal Bureau's Datuk Leong Tan Chong that it would subject non-Muslims to syariah law is preprosterous.
How stupid can a lawyer ( we assume he is one) like him be?
Syariah is only for muslims!
